Valuations

MONTASH is a member of the National Council of Jewellery Valuers (NCJV).

Valuations involve an analysis of each item in a piece of jewellery to assess the quality and value based on the current market condition.

As markets can vary, MONTASH is required to keep up to date with trends and fluctuations in order to value correctly.

Valuations are important for:

Jewellery Insurance – in case of lost, damaged or stolen jewellery

Purchasing or re-selling a piece of jewellery

Once an appraisal of the jewellery is completed, you will receive a valuation certificate that contains a full description and statement explaining the reason for the valuation and the intended market.

Your valuation will include an embossed NCJV seal which shows that MONTASH is a registered valuer and member of NCJV for the current year.

The cost of a valuation is dependant on the number of pieces being valued and their complexity of the design, diamonds and gemstones.
